Grow your environmental awareness and make a difference with the Environmental Science CCA at Yuan Ching Secondary School, where students lead green initiatives and community projects.
Introduction
The Environmental Science CCA was formed in January 2012 with the aim of developing student leaders to lead the environmental initiatives in Yuan Ching Secondary School.
The club takes on a “Head-Heart-Hand” approach in which we aim to influence others to be more environmentally friendly, carry out eco-activities to play our part for the environment and inspire others in going green.
In the Environmental Science, we aim to spread environmental awareness within our school and in the community. Our Values-In-Actions (VIA) projects consist of activities that spread environmental messages to the residents in the community.

To see our students become a well-informed and compassionate citizen of nature with all-rounded skills.
MISSION
To enthuse students in critical and creative engagements in issues and services pertaining to nature and the environment.
CCA Activities
Upcycling Project – Design new products from recycled materials, e.g. Pencil holder from tetrapak, Non-disposable fabric mask, Origami gifts from used red packets, etc.’
Student-initiated Upcycling Project – Showcase of student-initiated no-sew tote bag from used t-shirt and upcycling of toilet paper rolls @ Taman Jurong CC.
Zero Waste Project – Convert waste (plastic straws, used papers, packet drink containers, etc.) into artwork.
Dengue Prevention – Build awareness of Mozzie Wipeout steps in school and Taman Jurong neighbourhood.
Environmental Sharing Sessions – Expose our members to current environmental challenges and possible solutions.
Sustainability Learning Journeys (Singapore Discovery Center, Singapore Sustainability Gallery).
